What is menopause?
Menopause is diagnosed when a woman hasn’t had a period for 12 months and can no longer get pregnant.

What are hot flashes?
Hot flashes, also known as vasomotor symptoms (VMS), are feelings of warmth in the face, neck, and chest, or sudden intense feelings of heat and sweating. They can happen day and night.
Hot flashes may impact everyone differently. When hot flashes are severe, they can be disruptive. If you're dealing with these symptoms, know that you're not the only one. Almost 50% of women experience moderate to severe hot flashes in their first year of menopause.
